As Columbia grew and technology improved our ability to diagnose, prevent and treat diseases and injuries of the eye, we expanded to three locations and now have three divisions--- Columbia Eye Clinic, Columbia Eye Retina Center and Columbia Eye Surgery Center. Today, we are the most comprehensive eye center in South Carolina.
Our team of 14 board-certified ophthalmologists and over 100 certified and expertly trained ophthalmic staff members has been providing complete adult and children's eye care for over 40 years. Whether you need glasses or contacts, require cataract surgery and want to explore your options for corrective lenses, or you simply want to discover the visual freedom of LASIK correction surgery, Columbia Eye Clinic can give you the high-level, quality eye care you expect. We currently treat more than 9,000 patients each month at our three Columbia/Lexington locations.
Adjacent to our main office on Pickens Street is Columbia Eye Surgery Center and Columbia Eye Retina Center. Our ambulatory surgery center performs over 4,000 surgeries each year and is known by many to be one of the state’s most technologically advanced ambulatory eye surgery centers. Our newest division, Columbia Eye Retina Center, also grew out of our patients’ needs. As our population ages, we see the need to provide more specialized vitreoretinal services (for macular degeneration and retinal detachments, as examples) to our seniors. Additionally, sports-related injuries to the eye often demand similar retina expertise.
